Yearly Archives: 2008

Happy Holidays to all and a very wonderful 2009!

Yes, I am posting the day after Christmas but still in the holiday week span and so I thought I had better get on today and wish you all a wonderful holiday and hope that your Christmas was fantastic and your New Years will be all that and more!

I hope to share my art with new clients but for my current clients and those that come back to me to document their families again I am revamping my refererrals and repeating clients specials so that you will know just how much I appreciate you.  Also, this coming year there will be some MAJOR changes in my pricing structure (all for the good you all not a major increase at ALL); and also a NEW shooting area, PLUS quite a few mini-themed-sessions along with my NEW YEAR LONG FEATURE {I will unveil these soon}.

So, keep up with my blog to keep on top of these amazing events and specials that are happening in 2009!

I am shooting a friends wedding this weekend and hope to share some pics soon of that but wanted to leave you with a few from me and my family. Please be aware that these photos are outtakes…hence the editing job is minimal and backdrops and such are left in!

Another little girl to share…

This is little “M” and even though she is only more than a month old you can tell she is going to be such a beautiful girl. She has an amazingly cute little lips and I dare make a judgement that she may keep her bold, blue eyes! (per from what I hear that her daddy has brown I am living on the edge and say she will have blue!)

Her mom is very great with her and it shows that the bond is very deep with the two.

Can’t wait till our next shoot with some tutus!!!!

Working well with others….

namely photographers.  Yes, it is true that I LOVE the art of photography!  I would truely hope when someone enters into a craft that they charge any amount of money they are working in a craft/art/job that they are PASSIONATE about.  This is me with photography.  While I wear many hats in my life, one is that of being a R.N.  I worked in hospitals in ICU and ER for over 11  yrs and after the birth of my third child and taking step back to working only a few days a week to NONE I looked into myself on what I was going to do.  I LOVE being a SAHM; but what did I REALLY want to be when I grow up.  I really didn’t see myself going back to working in the hospital and lets face it, the hours are kinda stinky for having a busy family.  PLUS, at the time, my husband was traveling alot and legistically it would have been tough to work, juggle kids with a husband leaving here and there on a moments notice.

Alright, where am I going with this??????  I Love thinking, looking, doing, photography but to talk and share my passion with others like me is just wonderful.  I have formed some pretty GREAT relationships and friends who love and work this art form around the area.  We help eachother out and this past year some have second shot with me at some of my weddings, and I for them.

This post will show some images of a wedding I second shot for a photographer friend from Garden City.  Can you believe the wedding couple is from Fenton and the wedding was at Fenton!!  How is it that I didn’t get that gig????  Truth be known I just got back from a 3 week vacation and I wouldn’t have really taken on such an event for myself AND the couple found Kevin from knowing someone they work with. {hence word-of-mouth is everything in this biz}!

So much chatter {thanks for hanging in there} I am posting some of my images I took……

Better Late than Never….

Let’s just say that Jen and Doug are just about the most cutest couple. VERY much in love and just had such a magnificent energy around them on their day. It was to be an outdoor wedding and the weather was really unreliable that day to say the least. It definately rained, but alas, the moment that she was to walk down the isle the clouds let up a bit and allowed her to have her day outside. (With alot of workers wiping down the seats for the guests just seconds before her walk with her dad!!)
Not only did Jen put such amazing touches on her day, her special signs for her coworkers and her thank you boxes were all hand made by her. Every detail was hand done and just beautiful!

Jen and Doug—your patience is amazing and you this sneek-peek will be followed with something in the mail in time for Christmas!

IT’S A GIRL!!!!

She is just a little one…..about 8 weeks old.
She is already teething and goes from 100 miles per hour to 0 in 10 minutes.
Todd and I feel in love with her in 5 minutes-the kids in 5 seconds-and the grandparents already headed out to the buy a bed for her so when they watch her she has somewhere to rest!
Do you want to see her??????????????

Yep….she is a puppy!!!  She is a Jack Russell and possibly another small dog {chihuahua}?

I think I am going to start photographing dogs…….what do you think????

Blog-a-mania #2

Now you must move below to read the first post….

Here is a Senior that actually is my neighbor.  It is so COOL to walk out your door and just go 500 feet to your job!!

I have known him for about 11 years and he has always been super nice, respectful and cute.  And then around middle school time he ditched his glasses for contacts, started to grow really tall, and started working out and respecting himself and just becoming a handsome man {this truely doesn’t need to be said just look for yourself}

Blog-a-mania!!!

Okay…so much has been going on since we stepped off our boat and came home to our normal life and all is wonderfully taken with open arms.

I have to admit that a few times I thought, “Take me back to the warm water, no children, lounging and leisure lifestyle of cruising” but really, when I looked at what I “think” is stressing over is truely WONDERFUL!!

In these tough economic times I have wonderful clients who allow me to run around and do what I love by taking their pictures AND get paid for it!!

In the months coming up and the holidays I look back at the year and think of my best friend who passed away, and missing her.  Thinking of her little boy and husband and her mom, dad, sister and brother going through the holidays without their mom, wife, daughter, sister.  I feel such saddness for me and for them.  I turn around and look at my family, all healthy and happy and with simple life worries of where is a clean pair of underwear in the morning.

Wondering why must someone stress over the simple stuff when things and life could be so different and difficult.

I LOVE my life, my family, my job……and I am TRUELY grateful everyday!

Now you are asking; “Is this lady going to post pictures or what???”

You Betcha…….

First is a second session I had with my neice who is a Senior this year.  I am using some studio lights for this.  YES, it is true that some know I have talked about getting into a studio space of my own and this is still elusive at this time so I am being a bit creative and using some space in my home to make a small studio space.  It is cozy and cute and truely is fun to use the lights.

Being an available light photographer I am most comfortable and really LOVE the look of available light photos; but lets face it, here in Michigan we have ALOT of cloudy days.  Especially now that we are heading into the winter months our sunlight is very minimal and truthfully it will be bone cold and no one really likes pictures of themselves with red cheeks and boogers running out of their nose. {is this too graphic?}

Here she is….

Back home….and back to work!

The best laid plans are often squashed!!  I really hoped to post while we were on vacation but the internet was all but void out at sea!!  When we were at the islands the speed was almost negate!  So after being quite frustrated I admitted defeat and gave up and decided to enjoy life without computers and internet….which actually was wonderful I must say!

That being said I will post some more vaca pics but coming home was wonderful and work was waiting.  I am a bit back-logged with editing some weddings and seniors AND maternity……but I HAVE to post some images of a most beautiful senior I had the pleasure to meet today.  Not only was she just sweet and a very interesting girl but she is completely gorgeous…so much I kinda think that she doesn’t fully realize just how stunning she is.

You make the judge yourself…….isn’t she!!!
