WHAT IS CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY? – {Michigan Photographer}

What Is Custom Photography
The photographic art you choose to place on your wall is ultimately the result of the vision of the photographer. This vision, coupled with what you wear to your session, the environment, the lighting, even the mood the subjects are in at the time of photographing creates the work that you will want to proudly display on your walls forevermore.

Your first step in the process is more about determining who you are, who your family is and then seeking a photographer that reflects your style. For instance let’s say your family is extremely outdoorsy and loves playing on the beach. You start determining what style you like, browse through photography website portfolios and determine if any of the styles exhibited there would be a good fit with your life and family style. You have already determined that you should probably seek out a beach type photographer (that is if you live near a beach) and then begin narrowing the field down a bit.

Finally after a bit of internet research, you have narrowed it down to two photographers who do what seems like solid work, the sort of outdoor beach look you desire. It is now time to ask yourself: Do you like photographer A’s style over photographer B’s style? Is it because the people in the images of A’s style are having a great time and it seems very caught up in the moment vs. B photographer more posed, looking in the camera images? If this is a case, you probably like LIFESTYLE photography or perhaps even take it a step further and define your desired style as a PHOTOJOURNALISTIC photography style. The photographer you probably should choose is photographer A because their style is very similar to the style you desire.

What custom photography ultimately is all about is choice and experience. Custom photography is about finding someone who will photograph your family, give you devoted 1:1 attention without worry of who is next ‘in line’ or the feeling of a crowded portrait studio.

A custom photographer will typically show you a fairly extensive gallery culled to only show the good images that meet the photographers’ creative sensibilities.
Often the images are fully edited images-color corrected with blemishes and undereye circles removed.
Custom photographers are also known as boutique studios, offering a range of products and unparalleled service. Think Lexus vs. Hyundai, think Nordstrom vs. WalMart.
A custom photography experience should have you, the client and your experience in mind.

In their Easter Best! – {Michigan Childrens Photographer}

Easter Sunday was filled with wonderful weather and wonderful food. We went to my aunts house for a family gathering and celebration. Not only was it Easter but it was also my cousins 30th Birthday. WOW, 30…I remember that age! She is blessed with a little girl and she was dressed so adorable. Spring flower dress with a little sweater and tulle skirt under the dress. Simply too cute. Her sister was in from New York with her little man, and not to be upstaged from his little cousin, he was dressed in the most proper pin-striped suit. Well…good thing that I had my camera with me to get a few shots of these most cute, little people dressed-up!

Love this image….typical toddler with the babbling and walking everywhere and her shoulders scrunched and palms face up in a manner of “I DON’T KNOW??”

and lastly my two little sweeties….found these dresses at Target and screamed “hippie coolness”.

Power in a plain ole stick {Michigan Childrens Photographer}

Sunday was so amazingly gorgeous that after my Christmas Mini Session Shoots my son and daughter and I …along with our little Daisy…went on a walk in the park down the road from us.  While walking my son picked up ‘The Walking Stick’ and brought it home.  What fun the kids had with that stick…and it even made it into our little family photo shoot I needed to get done for my OWN Christmas cards.  Ya know, Xbox 360, Wii, going to Disney (well maybe not that), all couldn’t hold a candle to the imagination of a kid and the limitless ability to make found objects fun and interesting.

STICKS FOR ALL YOU IN YOUR STOCKINGS THIS YEAR:)

Little man growing quickly {Michigan Baby Photographer}

My little nephew visited in the middle of Jan and I was able to ‘quickly’ get some shots of him while he was here.

Then we blinked and her turned ONE~!! My brother flew me out to get his one year pictures done and while I was there we visited my good friend Shellie Gansz of Shutterbox Photography and she graciously let us tromp around her loft studio and take pictures as well as in her studio. What a treat……and what an amazingly busy child he has become!

Here is some cool shots of him…..isn’t he a sweetie!!!

A sneak-peek for a really cute 1 year old.

Thank you Mr. “L” for making me feel so good and letting me hold you and making me feel welcomed!  You are such a handsome little guy and it is no wonder why your grandma and mom are so into you!  You were so vivacious and inquisitive and finally at the end where you finally found out that snow is COLD, well it really brought back memories for me when my little ones had the same experience.

Here is your long awaited sneek……..

Children of the Shoe Maker

Is that how it goes…or something like that???

I finally have been taking a bit more pics of my kids…still impromptu but usually when they are clean and at least they are cooperating.

Here is a couple updated pics of all my kids taken within 3 weeks ago.

I think they are completely adorable and still {as I wipe a tear from my eye} growing WAY too fast.  I told Aron it is okay for him to stop at this age, he doesn’t need to grow anymore and don’t collect $200.00 on his way around.

Where does the time go??? {Seriously, if you have an answer to this question please leave a comment!}

Ann Arborteum’s beauty was matched by this family!

Meeting up with the “B” family in downtown AA (that is Ann Arbor to those who don’t know the AA squared) was simply pleasurable.  Not only was the area picturesque but they are a complete joy.  Lil “K” was finding out that the dirt path felt funny under her chubby fingers and then promptly wiped them on her lovely ‘WHITE’ dress!!!  What can you do?  She is just being a normal 15 month old right!  Climbing up on the bench, climbing down on the bench, climbing up on the bench….well, you get the idea.

Looking at her activity and looking how wonderful her mom and dad were coping with her energy while trying to get everyone together for that perfect shot made me think of how quickly this time will go for them.  How much I try to remember my own and how they were back when they were 15 months old and it is really tough sometimes to recall that all so distant memory.  I envy this family.  They will have these pictures of that day and they will have vivid proof and memory of how that day was and just how their little darling was so energetic, laughed, and giggled while walking with a wobble under the uneven ground.

Here is your sneak-peek…..loved being with you that day!  Aron says “HI”!
